I was breastfeeding happily for one and a half months, and suddenly I got the upper part of my left breast clogged one night after nursing my son.

For almost 20 hours, I tried everything, massaging my breasts, hot compressing, taking a warm shower, trying to express the milk while showering, and of course, trying to feed my baby with the clogged breast.
However, the hard lump stuffed with milk is still there. All that I did only relieved a bit of the swelling feeling. I was getting quite worried, I was scared that the clogged breast would get infected and turn into mastitis.
But I believe that the most natural way is the best way. In this case, the best way will be to ask my baby boy’s help to suck out the clogged breast.
It's proved that when a baby sucks milk, the suction force is strongest in the direction where the baby's chin is pointed.
Therefore, I lay on my side in bed and put my baby in the opposite direction as his head pointed at my feet and his feet in front of my face.

He started to suck, and immediately I felt the difference. As his chin is pointed at the upper part of my left breast, the skin was pulled and the block melts. It felt so effortless, my breasts went back to normal in just a few minutes.
Changing nursing positions not only help to solve clogged breasts, but also prevents it. Therefore I will change my nursing positions occasionally to prevent the block.
